My life in food form

My mom and I just saw the movie, Chef. Awesomeness. Inspirational. It get's me jazzed about the possibilities in life.

Some people live their lives with the minutes just blowing past them as they grapple to try and get everything accomplished in their week. Some people spend their lives standing still letting everything happen around them but nothing happen TO them. Some people spend their time wishing that they had more of a life. Some spending their time WAITING for more of a life to come to them. I….I spend my life trying to live in the moment that I'm in. Trying to cement what's good about it in my memory. A lot of times I fail at that. But then sometimes, I take a seemingly meaningless moment, to other people, and I put it in this special place in my memory. Because it means something to me. Like the moment where I FINALLY got to purchase my "Zero Gravity" chair after searching for it at 4 different stores for an hour and a half. Or the moment I get done with work, the sun is shining, and I realize I could do anything I want with the rest of my day. Or even the moment I finish cleaning the house. Because I know my husband is coming home from shooting a wedding in another state and would love nothing more then to sit in his clean house and drink a beer and relax.

These moments….they mean something to me. I cannot stress enough how important it is not to get lost in the "tomorrow's" of our lives. Or else these moments that should mean something……..don't. And if these moments don't mean something then my life is just happening. I believe that God meant for moments that seem meaningless to actually count. That's where the beauty lies.

For me. I experience my life in food form as some of the most beautiful moments. You may see a lot of pictures of my food, or veggies, or restaurants. But that's because to me food represents moments with loved ones, new friends, and total strangers. I know I've talked about this before but it is so important to me because it is who I am. And for people to understand me it's important for them to understand my love of food. Because if I could put the pictures of the people behind the food, crafting the food, or eating the food with me then I would be posting 10X the amount of pictures I do now.

So any time you see a picture of food, me with food, or me with someone else and food just remember…..it represents a moment, a celebration, a memory that I am tucking away into that special place. These photos mean something to me. They are not simply a chic new shot to try and impress. It's about why I am there and who I am with.

Thanks to each of you who take the time to share in these in these moments with me. To read what I'm writing. I really truly hope that this particular post causes you to stop today and find that moment in your day today. That moment that brought you joy. See that beauty. Live that life that you were given. Because your life lived that way. Is impressive. And it is an adventure. And it is INCREDIBLY unique.
